A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted for Prison Murder of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 stand indicted for homicide and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
Watkins, 48, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the tried rape of a very young child.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were confiscated.
