Chopper Spirals Wildly into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Beach
An aircraft hovering over a well-attended California shoreline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, finally losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as beachgoers observed.
Footage posted online show the aircraft starting to spin over the shoreline then descending in the direction of the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the coastal road.
First Aid Details
Local firefighters said five persons were taken to hospital involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on the weekend.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.

Authorities said the chopper was associated with an regular “Cars N Copters” fundraising event scheduled for the following day.
